Amethyst (purple quartz) is the birthstone for Aquarius and February, and the stone for the 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries.
Amethyst is also associated with St Valentine.
It was believed he wore an amethyst ring engraved with a cupid to enable young soldiers to recognise him.
Emperor Claudius 11, believing married men made bad soldiers, had forbidden soldiers to wed, but Valentine would conduct secret marriage ceremonies.

Trios of 6mm Sage Amethyst and 4mm faceted 'green rainbow' glass beads with a 10mm Swarovski heart set between six faceted glass beads.
The Swarovski heart is in the colour 'light amethyst', with a coating on the reverse to enhance the sparkle.
The Sage Amethyst beads are a muted purple with mottled grey-green overtones, very different in appearance to normal Amethyst, and are complemented by the faceted glass beads, which have a lovely rainbow sparkle of purples and greens.
The necklace fastens with a golden rose shaped toggle clasp that is nickel and lead free.
This necklace measures approximately 16 inches (40cm).
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
