My husband wanted me to knit him some warm socks, as he could not find any in the shops that fitted him perfectly, so I made a few attempts from vintage knitting patterns, until I came up with a design that suited. Since then, I have tried many different yarns and two sizes, so I can wear some as well and they have been tried and tested by many friends and family members.

Cosy hand knitted, non-itchy socks in woollen yarn. These are my variegated socks using 75% virgin wool and 25% polyamid to fit shoe sizes 4 to 6. The yarn is dimensionally stable, hard-wearing and machine washable up to 40 degrees, with no felting and it is also dryer proof. (This yarn is space-dyed and therefore each sock will be slightly different.)) Length from heel turn to top is approximately 8" and heel to toe is also 8". Using a specific washing liquid for wool with help to prolong the life of the socks.
