I'd had the idea of making a Peacock for some time. As I was admiring some glass dichroic 'blobs I had just made I realised they would fit most beautifully into a Peacock's tail, so this is what I made. I've made a few more since then. Hope you like this one.
I post this first class signed for to cover the Royal Mail insruance values.

This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A very special design. A Peacock.
This suncatcher is extra special because into the tail I have incorporated 8 glass globs of wonderful dichroic glass made in my little fusing kiln. Dichroic is the creme de la creme of glass and extortionately expensive but these globs fit so well into the tail I just had to use them.
The peacock is of course made from peacock shades of aquamarine / turquoise using lots of streaky and iridescent glass.
The eye is sparkly dichroic glass as is the beak and the top of the head topped with a wire crown. I've strengthened the back of the neck with twisted wire which also gives an effect of feathers.
This was quite tricky to make as it has so many deep curves but I am so pleased with the result and hope you will be too.
The peacock hangs from a silvery little chain which is securely fastened to the top with a soldered wire ring.
This looks simply stunning hanging in the window and would make a lovely ornament for any room. It is approximately 18cm x 12cm.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass. In this case the uniqueness is more so as I cannot replicate the dichroic globs.
