Challenged on line to make a temperature blanket, I actually made two as I was not happy with the colour gradings of the first, and became quite obsessive. The temperatures only remain on line for 24 hours so I had to be careful not to miss it and for various reasons I missed the daily stitching sometimes and has to work hard to catch up. Because of the time taken, this is an expensive item but because of the special nature it is well worth it, especially for anyone with a connection to the county or the year.

Full description
This crocheted temperature blanket, completed in 2023, was a year-long endeavour. Each row signifies a day of the year, mirroring the midday temperature recorded in Cranwell, Lincolnshire. The blanket displays ten colours, predominantly in pink and purple shades, with each colour denoting a temperature range of 3 degrees, becoming darker as temperatures increase. It begins and concludes with cooler hues, while the middle features warmer, deeper pinks and purples. Divisions for each month are accentuated with a woven thread. Crafted from premium acrylic yarn sourced from a distinguished Yorkshire supplier, the blanket measures roughly 48 inches by 74 inches, making it an ideal size for a double bed or cosy family gatherings in front of the television.
