I AM UPDATING PRODUCT BOXES FOR JEWELLERY AND DECORATIONS WHICH WILL TAKE AWHILE, IF YOU PURCHASE YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR ORDER IN THE NEW BOXES AS DESCRIBED BELOW.
Jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Jewellery box inserts are made from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp industry. All paper, card, glue, inks and delivery boxes used are made from recycled materials.
I love collecting things discarded, lost, forgotten, damaged or just not wanted any more. My favourite places are rivers and beaches, but also find great things at recycling centres and charity shops. I’m lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-created into something new. Bits and bobs of lives all waiting to find new homes. Found by chance.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Additional terms
Hand crafted Jewellery and framed artworks using pre loved and discarded ceramics. Ceramic material will show signs of wear and damage. Entire process is a creative experience from discovery to final picture, nothing planned or preconceived. All materials personally collected from river banks, charity shops, roadside, woods, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each piece comes with a short bio of where the ceramic came from, date found and re-created. Some shards collected are used as found, others are cut randomly which shape the final work. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Created from ceramic discovered in
Darlington, North East May 2023
Re-Created into Decoration October 2023
In May 2023 I found a decorative wall plate in a charity shop in Darlington, North East. Cracked, scratched and due to be thrown away.
It was a large plate with a lot of decoration, hand painted in places but sadly very damaged. I love to work with pieces that are formed naturally, not contrived, so I dropped the plate onto a hard surface. This created a quite a lot of shards but due to the original damage only a few were in a good enough condition to use.
This hanging decoration is made from the largest shard, it broke almost in the shape it is now, all I did was snip off the sharp edges with a tile cutter, drilled a hole and sand the edges. Front, back glaze in tact and I’ve sanded around the hole on the back. Hanging on recycled textured wire which can be stretched longer or squeezed to shorten.
The idea is to keep the character of the ceramic found, the finished piece is not meant to be highly polished or perfect. Found by chance in a box in Darlington destined to be recycled. Once a pretty wall plate, damaged and destined to be lost forever, now a hanging decoration, unique and full of history.
Decoration measures approximately 74mm x 32mm (widest) x 4mm (widest).
Full drop as it is displayed approximately 155mm.
Delivered in brown gift box, gift bag made from recycled materials and comes with a short bio.
