Polymer clay is an obsession for me so when the opportunity arose to try a new technique, I jumped at it. This clay started out as a butterfly cane (a length of clay with a picture running through its length) but I decided to transform it into a more complex cane which results in fun, mesmerizing patterns. The finished pieces were far better than I hoped for and the disappointing butterfly transformed into beautiful patterned clay.
