Instead of buying a new hat and gloves every year a set like this is something to get out year after year as the weather starts to turn a bit chilly. Slow fashion is definitely the way forward so making hats and gloves that will last season after season is important and when I can make them in such pretty coloured wool too why wouldn't I!

If you love to stay cosy and warm then this hat and fingerless gloves set is just what you need when it's cold outside, or even inside if you work in a draughty office or studio!
I have crocheted this set in a lovely sock weight yarn that is 75% wool, 25% nylon as it is hardwearing and therefore long lasting but also warm and lightweight. Chunky knits are great but sometimes we just want the warmth without the extra bulk.
The beanie is slightly slouchy and measures approx 9.5 inches high and around 20" around but it will easily stretch out another couple of inches thanks to the natural give in wool.
The fingerless gloves have the same lacy stitch and will fit a wrist of up to 8", they have a thumb hole and are just over 7 inches long with ribbed cuffs to give s snug fit and keep out a bit more of the chill.
This set would also make a lovely useful gift and with the pinks, greys, browns and creams these will go with so many colours of coat or jacket too so you should get plenty of Winters out of them.
To wash simply handwash in hand hot water or machine wash on a gentle wool setting, do not tumble dry.
