Item details

During my gap year before going to university, I was given a little handmade needle case by the mother of a friend. It was made from felt and scraps of lace and I have treasured it ever since. Three decades on it is still in daily use and it would be lovely to think that one of these little cases could give equally good service!

Full description

Sweet little needle case featuring an appliqued jug motif with hand embroidered flowers on the front, and fabric from the William Morris Winter Berry collection on the back

The needle case is lined with green and white gingham cotton fabric and has a layer of cotton batting to give a lightly padded effect. There are two pieces of pale 'turquoise marl' felt giving four 'pages' which have been decorated with snippets of leftover ribbon and a little ceramic 'William Morris' patterned button. The case is fastened with a vintage 'Mother of pearl' button and ribbon loop.

NB Designs may vary slightly but the needle case shown here is the one that you will receive.

I've included a selection of sewing essentials to start your collection but please note that contents may vary depending on availability.

The needle case measures approximately 8.5cm x 10cm

Designed by Rowan Harris-Bates in Norfolk
