Full description
Handcrafted, bespoke wooden stair gates.
These beautiful gates are made in my small, family workshop at home and are sized to your specific requirements. I make them all with strong mortice and tenon joins. To ensure there are no sharp edges, they feature a rounded top and smooth, sanded edges throughout. Each gate is hung between two posts, which are included with your order, using ball bearing hinges and a sliding bolt. The bolts and hinges come in either chrome or bronze.
The standard height of the gates is 80cm, but this can be customised on request. You can choose for your gate to have a sanded finish (natural), be painted white or be stained with danish oil. If you choose danish oil, the following options are available: clear, Medium Oak, Dark Oak, Deep Mahogany, Antique Pine or Canadian Cedar.
When placing your order, please measure the gap for your stair gate (above the skirting board) at an even height on each side and include this measurement in centimeters in a message to me. A picture of the gap is also useful. Please also let me know what colour hinges and bolts you would like, any colour finishes you require and any other specific requests you have for your order.
Please note that these are not being sold as child safety gates. Although they are strong handmade wooden stair gates, they have not undergone external testing and are not BSI approved. I cannot be held responsible for any accidents that occur if they are used for unapproved purposes.
