Full description

Start your campfire in the manner used for centuries before matches came along! This simple "striker" is hand forged from high carbon steel and thenhardened, meaning that when struck against a bit of ordinary flint, itll chuck sparks... and these are sufficient to catch light on a piece of char cloth.

You can make your own char cloth by cutting up some old cotton rags and putting them in a sealed tin with a single hole punched into the lid over the embers of your fire. Once the smoke has stopped coming from the hole, remove the tin from the heat and seal up the hole with a nail until it has cooled. The char cloth can then be removed and used immediately or kept indefinitely in a sealed tin with your fire lighting stuff.

If you want to get going right away without having to find flints or make char cloth, I also sell a complete kit ready to go... please have a look in my store!
