This piece was created as a result of a tapestry weaving course I am taking, with US weaver Kennita Tully. I wanted to experiment with the technique of wrapping, which I learned on this course.

Full description
Textural Contrasts is a one of a kind weaving which has been handwoven with a mixture of wools, cottons, and cotton waste yarn, in shades of green, purple, orange and yellow. It is a highly textured piece featuring wrapping- a technique where one yarn is “wrapped” with another yarn to create a tube effect on the weaving surface. It is stitched onto a piece of linen fabric and framed in a simple black wooden box frame with no glass, which measures 19 x 19 x 3cm.
It will be well wrapped in tissue and bubble wrap and posted with Royal Mail. Where possible I reuse packaging to reduce cost to the customer and to the environment.
