Hello 2024 and if you are new to my shop, a very warm welcome!
I make everything myself, I am a company of one. Bit with great support from my family and fellow artists and makers in my studio.
I love to find new fabrics to create trees with, but this year I hope to develop my lino print collection. Wish me luck!

So much has changed since the last coronation in 1953, but I still treasure the tins both my grandmothers kept their sewing things in. The tiny brooches they must have worn on the big day, maybe for a street party!? I wanted to make something to mark this important occasion, we may never see again….depending on how old you are of course!
I had the idea of a tiny royal pincushion, found the cutest little crowns and came up with the idea. Using wooden cotton reels with no thread on, which I have quite a few of and it’s lovely to give them a new life! I’ve hand painted the nature inspired filigree, and then played with it in a well known app….adding further details, if you look very closely you will see the flowers I’ve added are actually the brooches I sell:rose, daffodil, sunflower and forget me not. We can read so meanings into flowers, I’ll just let you find your own.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Another cute little pincushion made from a vintage cotton reel (of course!)…..this time with a nod to the Royal event coming up on the 6th of May!
I’ve hand painted the design around the bobbin, but then used magical technology to scale down and print the paper sleeve.
The cushion is wool felt, hand stitched in royal gold and is full of ground walnut shells for keeping your pins sharp, a traditional filling!
The tiny crown just finishes off the concept I hope, just super cute!
It stands around 6ams high as you can see, not much bigger than the original vintage wooden cotton reel.
These will be very limited, I’m not intending to make them beyond 2023. They are a fun commemorative decoration, I wouldn’t use it as a pincushion every day, more for special occasion stitching.
Remember, one lot of postage covers many a pincushion and tree!
