Picasso Jasper is actually a metamorphic limestone rather than true Jasper, with lined patterns formed by iron oxide.
It is thought to relieve stress, bringing wholeness and tranquility.
The Picasso Jasper works well with the subtle understatement of larvikite, that seems at first glance to be a mottled stone of paler and darker grey until light reveals hints of a silvery sheen and flashes of blue.
It is named after the region of Larvik in Norway, and was named Norways national stone in 2008.

Elegant necklace featuring nine 12x4mm matt Picasso Jasper tubes separated by 3.5mm, AA grade, micro-faceted pale blue Chalcedony and 2mm, AAA grade, micro-faceted Pyrite beads.
Mottled grey 4mm Larvikite beads complement the Jasper, and show flashes of silvery blue in the light that mimic the Chalcedony.
The Picasso Jasper tubes are in varying shades of light, creamy grey and dark grey-black with the abstract lined patterns that earned them their name, and a soft, matt finish.
The natural Chalcedony beads are un-dyed, and a pale periwinkle blue, with a lovely sparkle, accentuated by the metallic glitter of the faceted Pyrite.
The necklace fastens with a simple black toggle clasp that is nickel and lead free.

This attractive necklace measures approximately 16 inches (41cm).
