Full description
My inspiration for this piece was the joy you get when you can see for miles across farmers fields while the sunsets. The colours of the fields are like a painting with yellow, greens and the inclusion of a lake or river represented by a textured wavy blue. The English countryside all packaged up in the beautiful sun catcher. It is framed in a naturally felled local elder which has been oiled to bring out the grain.
The stained glass, some of which are hand rolled pieces of glass, have been selected so to give you the feeling you are watching over the fields as the sun sets. Each piece of glass is hand cut, grinded to shape and then wrapped in copper foil. The pieces are then soldered together. Next it is washed, polished and buffed up to a shine. It is then attached to the wood insert using glaciers clips.
