I have always made butterfly suncatchers but a chance remark by my daughter had me reaching for my pencil and paper and this butterfly picture is the happy result.

Full description
This is a unique entirely hand-crafted stained glass picture which I designed and made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A brightly coloured Butterfly which I have captured resting among green leaves against a vividly blue background sky.
A picture to bring summer into your room all year round.
The butterfly is a Strawberry Custard, a very rare variety indeed and not often spotted in these parts.
It is cut from 4 different types and shades of red glass, some iridescent to give extra glimmer and then a contrasting bright yellow.
The picture is 13.5cm square and is framed with a twisted wire edging for strength and neatness, It hangs from a silvery chain.
It comprises 28 individually cut pieces of glass which are fitted together like a jigsaw and soldered affer each piece has been edged in copper foil. Everything I make is lovingly entirely handcrafted.
This piece would make a super and very individual present.
It is absolutely unique. I never make two things exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
This suncatcher is especially in your face vivid. I can't paint a picture with a brush but I can put together a picture using beautiful coloured glass and my picture won't fade.
