Ruby is the birthstone for July and also the 40th Wedding Anniversary gift.
Rubies are a precious gemstone, they have been thought to act as a talisman for peace and a promise of wisdom and health for the holder. They are associated with love, passion, and power. There was a time in history when the healing crystal Ruby was considered even more precious than Diamonds, which is why it often adorned the clothing and jewellery of nobility. This gives Ruby meaning as a leadership stone and one suitable for people moving in circles of great power and responsibility. The name Ruby comes from the Latin word rubeus, meaning red,
To care for the ruby it is best to avoid chemicals and even mild acids like lemon juice. To clean use a mild soapy solution or damp cloth and avoid ultrasonic cleaners.
