When I lived in Wiltshire I loved to walk & sketch on the hills. The Wylye Valley was a favourite haunt & this print was inspired by a hot day in August, when the hills were golden before the harvest & the sky was windy & blue. Its always windy on the downs!

Full description
This bold abstract lino cut is printed in hot colours ranging through golden yellow, to bright & dark red, with touches of blue as a contrast. It represents a day in high summer, upon the rolling downlands of Wiltshire. The main block was cut into two pieces & the blue sky was printed separately in a dramatic sinuous sweep of lines. Textures & cut marks accentuate the shape of the hills.
