Slip trailed plate in simply clay. Handmade Stoneware Pottery by littlewrenpottery on Etsy.
This plate is 25 cm (12.2 inches) in diameter and 4 cm in height.
This decorative ceramic plate has an off centre feathered section which was created by slip trailing alternate bands of colour onto the plate. Feathering is a very traditional pottery technique but the vibrant slip colours give it a modern feel.
Hand thrown on the wheel this piece features a flat stepped shape which was covered in blue slip before the design was trailed onto the surface. It was then simply glazed in a glossy transparent, you can feel where the design has been trailed on to the plate as a slightly raised surface.
Use this piece as a talking point when serving meals on it or display it on your shelf as a decorative touch. A shallow foot ring finishes off the look of this piece and it will sit flush on your table when it comes to dinner time.
This plate can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
