I’m rather a traditionalist when it comes to decorating for Christmas and love festive reds, creams and greens. In our house no special occasion can pass by without hanging out the bunting flags and Christmas is absolutely no exception. This string of bunting contains all my favourites; Liberty, William Morris and lots of green (my favourite colour)!

Bring a touch of fluttery cheer to your Christmas festivities with this jolly ‘MERRY CHRISTMAS’ bunting in shades of red and green with a tiny touch of gold. The perfect antidote to plastic decorations, this bunting can be brought out for many Christmasses to come!
I have chosen a combination of traditional red polka dot and gingham fabrics and mixed in some gorgeous 'Holly Berries' patterned material from Liberty, and 'Winter Berry' fabric from V&A for William Morris.
The words ‘Merry Christmas’ have been hand cut from alternating red and green felt and then machine stitched in place. The flags have been sewn onto co-ordinating red and cream gingham ribbon and each flag has a tiny brass bell hand-stitched onto each point. Not just decorative, they really do gently jingle!
The bunting consists of two strings of lettering with the word ‘Merry’ on one string and ‘Christmas’ on a second, and they have been designed to hang underneath each other - see photos. Each string measures approximately 1m 35cm with additional 40cm ties at each end. Each individual flag measures 15cm across and 18cm from point to tip.
I decided to split the words between two strings of ribbon to save space, otherwise the bunting measures just over 2 metres in length.
NB This is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of babies and small children
