Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher handmade using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
I originally made it for a commission.
It shows a sun, moon and star in a ring which is then framed with twisted wire.
I've been in a rainbow mood this week, in protest at the end of warm summer which I love and the onset of the colder seasons which I don't love as it is very cold in my garage studio !
So I've made this one using rainbow colours. The moon, a face is red with a green hat and purple chin. The sun is yellow with amber beams and the sky is of course blue.
The star is iridescent textured clear glass.
The suncatcher hangs from a little silver chain which is securely attached at the top by soldered rings.
This looks really lovely hanging in the window where it catches the light. It is 13cm in diameter. I have framed it with twisted wire for neatness and strength.
It would make a super present and it is absolutely unique.
I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
