I love bees and really love making bumblebees, especially. I know that I’m going to miss making them for the Fifty Bees project.

Full description
This listing is for the deposit for a custom made needle felted bumblebee sculpture - it covers approximately 50% of the full cost.
These sculptures are felted from natural wool and are big and fluffy and built into a beautiful vintage glass and metal containers.
As well as the wool I may use beads, vintage threads including kamibari gold, silver and silk thread and embroidery thread.
Here you can see some examples of my previous bee species, which will give you an idea of what is feasible and I am happy to create any species of your choice.
Please also note, I am an artist and therefore, I am creating an art piece for you - each piece is completely unique and, often, the result is unexpected.
Please get in touch once you have made your deposit to discuss the species you would like me to create. Commission lead times are 6 weeks and I have spaces for 6 before the end of the year.
The containers measures 7cm wide, and 2.5cm high - see the last image to see what the containers look like.
But, I am also happy to work into one of your own containers if you would prefer.
I do have other bees left from the five exhibitions. Much of these have been shared via the FIFTY BEES Instagram page.
