I designed this for a commission, a kingfisher version. I love kingfishers, a king among birds, so this was a real pleasure to make.
I know that kingfishers like fish but the suncatcher looks much nicer with a flower so this kingfisher likes flowers as well.
Postage is set for first class signed for Royal Mail.

Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher handmade using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
The suncatcher is in the form of an oval picture showing a bright shiny Kingfisher. The bird is fluttering its wings and has its beak in the middle of a bright Rose-Pink flower.
The surrounding glass is all clear and prettily textured glass with the glass at the bottom in rippled iridised glass to suggest water and I've used rain drop glass under the bird's chest as it rises up from the water,
The picture is framed with twisted wire to strengthen and give a good neat edge..
This hangs from a little silver chain which is securely attached at the top by soldered rings.
Really pleased with this design. I've tried to truly depict the colourful kingfisher, such a pretty bird.
Please note that this suncatcher contains a high percentage of iridised glass. . It gives a wonderful effect. The solder near the iridised glass is more liable to slight tarnish than on non-iridised glass but this is not a fault and makes no difference as not visible when hanging in the light.
The suncatcher is oval 19cm high and 15cm wide.
It can hang anywhere, not just in a window but also against a wall and would make a super present and it is absolutely unique.
I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
