Welcome Rustic Country Style Crafts. Creating Jack-O-Lanterns is so much fun for everyone. Carving out the inside, adding the eyes and mouth and popping in a light which is then proudly placed outside so that everyone can enjoy them. These 3 stacked lanterns will be a wonderful additional to your Halloween collection and have lots of admiring looks no matter where you place it.

The story goes .... Pumpkins with ghoulish faces and illuminated by candles are a sure sign of the Halloween season. The practice of decorating jack-o'-lanterns originated in Ireland, where large turnips and potatoes served as early canvasses. In fact, the name, jack-o'-lantern, comes from an Irish folktale about a man named Stingy Jack. Irish immigrants brought the tradition to America, home of the pumpkin, and it became an integral part of Halloween festivities.
These cute Jack-o'-Lanterns is my take on this old folktale. Sitting on top of each other with their unique faces and decorated with vines, leaves and the top stem are all made using bright orange (and I mean bright), shades of green and brown felt. Each pumpkin is hand sewn to the one below which in turn is hand stitched onto the vintage bed spring which makes it easy for putting in the perfect spot, it also 'wobbles' as the spring is gently touched.
Their faces are created using white and black felt and have shiny bead eyes and stitched in to place with higgledy piggledy embroidery thread. I used fabric crayons to create their rosy cheeks and added silver paint to create the shine on their noses. A very unique fun addition to a Halloween collection.
