Full description
This is a unique original colour pencil drawing of a marabou stork, a large and powerful bird native to Africa with very long legs, a bald head and a thick strong beak. This individual almost appears to be dancing – he is bent down looking at the floor and lifting one foot which has slightly webbed toes. His black and white plumage is very striking and the feathers appear to be deep and soft, a contrast to the pinkish beak which is long, strong and hard. To show him most clearly, no background has been added except an indication of the gravelly ground on which he is standing.
Using artist-quality coloured pencils on heavy weight paper for a high-quality professional finish, the picture is presented in an off-white / pale cream colour mount, with a backing board and protected in a clear cellophane bag. Measuring (with mount) 14” wide by 18” tall (image size 10” by 14”) - that’s approximately 35 by 45 (25 by 35) in cm - it will fit a readily-available standard-size frame.
