Full description

This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.

I designed this for a commission, decided I loved what I had made and made another and another.

A Staffordshire Potteries Potbank suncatcher. A Potbank skyline against a sunset.

The potbank kilns are cut from iridescent black glass so that when they catch the light they shimmer with shades of gold or purple. The sky is purple and the kilns are sending up plumes of smoke characteristic of a Potteries skyline.

There's a dark canal running along the front of the potbanks and of course a canal towpath to complete the picture.

It's framed with a strengthening border of twisted wire.

It is 15.5cm in diameter and hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached at either side of the top.

My pieces are all unique. I use different shades and textures of glass to ensure that everything I make, even when to the same pattern, is different.
