I enjoy watching YouTube videos on my phone when I'm at my desk, in my workshop or cooking up a storm in the kitchen. I became increasingly frustrated that I had nowhere to put my phone that wasn't a dedicated phone stand, which just took up space and looked ugly when it wasn't being used!
I also like having a pencil and notebook handy where I work, available to jot down notes or sketch ideas. I was forever losing pens and pencils, which meant I was spending as much time looking for a pen as using one!
So, I decided I needed a desk organiser which could hold my notebook and pencil, would look great when not being used and which could also be a phone holder wherever I was working.
It was then that the Harley & Steffan range of desk organisers was born!

Products have subtle variations from one piece to the next, caused by variations in the wood as well as the hand crafting. The Alfriston, named after one of our favourite local forests, is our top of the range desk organiser. It comprises of two pen holders, two pen slots, a phone/tablet holder, a book holder and a tray for your essential bits & bobs. Presented in a simple and practical design that lets the natural beauty of oak shine through, your desk organiser will appear to float on your work surface and sits unobtrusively in almost any setting.
Perfect in any workspace, you will always have a pen or pencil to hand, a book to write in, a tray for your bits & bobs and somewhere to place your phone. It's angled perfectly for making video calls, watching videos, browsing the web, using apps and reading instructions or recipes!
Our full range of desk organisers are handmade in Eastbourne from off-cuts of solid oak, which have been locally sourced in East Sussex, using timber from barn conversions that would otherwise be thrown away. The individual pieces are secured with walnut dowel, in keeping with the overall high quality of the materials used.
