Beautiful Handmade Ceramic Birdy Brooch.
This unique handmade Birdy Brooch has undergone quite a transformation. He has been hand formed from earthenware Clay before getting his first decorations. Ceramic underglazes and slips have been hand painted to create a completely unique design, before he goes for his first firing in the kiln to just over 1200dc.
Once he has cooled he receives his final coat of transparent glaze before he heads to the kiln for his 2nd and final firing.
Its after this firing that you can really see the beautiful colours and brush strokes of Yellow, Green, Blue, Orange, White and Pink.
The back of the brooch has been left unglazed this is to allow the beauty of the clay to shine through. It is here you will find the MatildaBelle makers mark along with a high quality brooch safety fixing. The measurements are approximately 4.5cm x 2.5cm
This little guy really is a lovely piece of Artisan Handmade Ceramic Jewellery to own or gift.
