I made some bed bugs ages and ages ago - they were actually in a wall hanging wooden bed - this time I wanted something that could be more tactile.

Full description
I loved making this 'bed bug ' and the matchbox bed !! The little bug is made from Osnaburg which I have painted black , then sanded. The face has been embroidered onto linen and then the circle randomly stitched to the body and then given a coffee wash. The antennae and arme arms are black painted jute and are therefore quite stiff. There is a little piece of vintage lace patched onto the body.
The bed has been made from a large matchbox and has tiny wooden cotton reel feet. The mattress and pillow are made from linen. The ensemble comes complete with a little cotton reel and candle bedside light.
The bug measures about 7cms excluding legs and antennae. The matchbox bed is 9 cms long, 7 wide and is 8 cms high.
This is for decoration only and not suitable for children.
