When I receive deliveries of leather hides, I sort them all out and imagine what I am going to make with them, this hide shouted " carpet bag " so here we are, a large Mary Poppins style weekend carpet bag

Leather carpet bag, tan leather holdall, travel bag hand luggage
Tis the thing of beauty, this large weekend bag is styled on the vintage carpet bag, just like a Mary poppins bag. This holdall is made from tan upholstery grade real leather, it is an analine leather, ( marks easily, looks worn but ages with a fantastic patina ), the whole bag is made from the same hide.
This large carpet bag features habdcrafted carry handles and shoulder strap, a semi solid flat bag base with bag feet, antique brass bag hardware, a twist bag lock on the front, and a spring loaded bag frame. Inside the bag is fully lined in mulberry tree linen fabric in natural and gold, and features a large zip pocket, 2 slip pockets, a key clip and 2 x D rings for the detachable strap.
Measurements approx 36 cm ( 14" ) tall x 48 cm ( 19") across the base x 23 cm ( 9" ) deep base, as this bag has a spring frame, it will open out to 41 cm ( 16" ) x 20 cm ( 8" ). The leather handles are approx. 41 cm long. The detachable strap is approx. 80 cm long but can be made longer.
Your bag will be posted in a large box via UPS and it will come with its own cloth protector bag.
