I'm always looking for unusual items to create jewellery and when I saw these lovely Japanese washi paper heart shapes, I just knew that they would look great on these earrings!
I've sourced these amazing papered heart shapes from another great UK business - Artcuts - who designed and made them.

Full description
Look pretty in pink with these beautiful pale pink heart dangle earrings - featuring Japanese washi paper heart shapes!
This particular type of Japanese paper is called Chiyogami paper and it is hand screen printed in Japan, each layer of colour added one at a time, then finally a layer of gold or silver detail. This particular paper has a pale pink background with little white blossoms, green leaves and a smatter of gold metallic detail.
I've selected a pair of hearts for each earring - they are non-identical but use the same paper - added varnish for protection and secured them at an off-set angle, onto a 2.5cm circle of plywood (FSC approved), that I have hand painted on one side with a soft pink artists quality acrylic paint and used a semi-matte varnish on the front. Then on the back is a pink shade of high shimmer metallic paint, that's full of mica! The back was coated with satin varnish to bring out that shine!
I've teamed these earrings with gold plated jump rings and gold plated surgical steel earring hooks with ball detail. The total drop length is 4.5cm.
