Full description
This beautiful lampshade is covered in 100% cotton which has been hand-dyed in South Africa using a process called sun printing. Leaves, ferns and seed pods from indigenous South African plants are combined with eco-friendly light sensitive dyes, and when the fabrics are exposed to the sun the image of the plant material remains. Every piece of fabric is a one-off creation, which is what makes these fabrics and the items they are used to make, so very special.
It can be made in three diameter sizes: 20cm (Ht 18cm), 30cm ( Ht 21cm) or 40cm (Ht 25cm) - just select the size you would like in the drop down menu. Due to the handmade, individual nature of the lampshades, the exact placing of the design elements will vary slightly between each shade. The lampshades are handmade to order, so please allow up to 2 weeks for dispatch.
The lampshade frame fits the standard bayonet cap (BC) lamp holder. This is the most common type of lamp fitting in the UK today. It can also be used with Edison Screw (E27) lamp holders, by removing the converter plug in the centre of the fitting.
We recommend the use of low energy bulbs with our lampshades. The inside of the lampshade is fire-retardant, anti-yellowing white PVC.
Please note: the lamp base is not included. Also due to differences in screens and monitors, the colours you are seeing may differ from those in real life.
