Wishing all a very Happy Christmas and New Year

I like depicting fantasy scenes in my collagraph prints, Inks merge together and really lend themselves to plants and water scenes. I am inspired by nature and fairy stories from my childhood and far too much daydreaming which is where this image stemmed from. Surely if you have grown up Mermaids there must be child Mermaids too.

Full description

Collagraph print of Mother and Child mermaids learning to swim.

This is a varied edition print. Printmaking is a handmade process so no print will be identical which is what makes this style of printmaking appealing, the uniqueness.

The process of collagraph starts out as a collage using lots and lots of different textures. It is then coated with shellac. Once the image is dry you can print from it. It is very experimental form of printmaking but a style which produces a softness and atmospheric appeal. If you look a photographs of my work it will display a collagraph plate.
