Full description
This unusual hand carved heart fridge magnet, made to look like it has been carved on a section of a tree trunk has been upcycled from reclaimed wood. This carving will make a perfect present for an anniversary, birthday, wedding, engagement, Easter gift or just for a person you love.
Approximately 7.5 cms in length, approximately 7.5 cms at its widest point and approximately 1 cm in depth.

I am a firm believer in upcycling using reclaimed wood whenever possible. I often recycle the packaging I send out my items in.
A piece of wood was selected and cut to accommodate the size of the external heart. The external heart was cut using a bandsaw following a design. Using carving knives I then handcarved the central heart and the tree bark effect. Next I painted the carving with acrylic paint before coating it with several coats of lacquer to protect it. The lacquer used is water and heat resistant, and toy safe. A magnet has been attached to the back of the piece
