I made my first spider's web for my own bathroom in 2009 but someone wanted to buy it so I sold it and have never managed to keep one for myself since.
This is one of my most popular items and everyone who has bought one from me has been delighted with it.
This is number 043 and it is a pleasure to make.

This is a stained glass suncatcher made entirely by hand using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A spider's web, complete with red spider and a fly, a ladybird, both detachable.
It is made with lots of different types, textures of beautiful clear glass including iridescent, streaky, rain drops,
Most of my glass pieces are bright and colourful. This, except for the insects, is monochrome but very effective.
Though the glass is all virtually colourless the web takes colour from the different types of glass within it and especially the iridescent pieces which have pink and turquoise shimmers..
There are also three little bits of mirror added in for very good effect, as the mirrors reflect things going past and give the web lovely movement.
I deliberately make this web slightly imperfectly, leaving a few gaps here and there.
It comes complete with its own detachable little quirky red spider and a little ladybird, made from wire and a glass bead.
It looks quite stunning hanging in the window where it catches the light and would make a lovely ornament for any room.
I have attached a piece of twisted wire with a ring at the top for hanging. It is 7 inches in diameter. This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours / textures of glass.
