I am a true nature, animal and bird lover. I love to be at one with nature and I love working with wood.
The rocking horse as we know it dates back to the 17th Century when wooden rocking horses first appeared in Europe. A few of these early rocking horses still survive in museums and private collections, including one ridden by King Charles I of England when he was a child.

I am a firm believer in upcycling using reclaimed wood whenever possible. I often recycle the packaging I send out my items in.
A piece of recycled wood was cleaned and sanded to enable me to upcycle it. The design was applied to the wood and cut using a Scroll Saw. The Intarsia woodworking technique was applied where different species of wood were cut and shaped into three dimensional pieces and then glued together to form a design. Some of the pieces were wood stained before being finished with Danish Oil, which is food and toy safe. To finish the decoration a loop and ribbon were added to allow for hanging.
Thanks for visiting.
