I hope you'll find that special thing here in the shop as I make everything by hand, welcoming the differences that these techniques bring.

Just another wren idea really, I won’t apologise for this obsession. I’m still coming up with things I need to make and I will share them with you!
But I am pleased with the finish on these little sweeties, its almost a mindfulness moment. How you can wrap your hand around the whole bird, how it feels smooth to the touch and has a certain density to it, in the weight and the feel of the clay. I have used porcelain, very white, very smooth and although they are unglazed they have a sheen to the surface.

Full description
These ceramic birds are really as tiny as the real thing. They are just 4 cm high and make a little ball of pottery loveliness.
I wanted to make some smooth wrens, to get away from the carving I usually do. I also made them smoother, blending the wings and tail into the body more. It just makes them different to handle. But not getting away from individuality, each one is just a bit different, just having their own quirks and features.
I like to see a crowd of them, but they look equally good sitting alone on a shelf. Good as a table decoration or included as a place setting gift. Definitely an interesting addition to a festive get together.
So tiny – 4cm high and round and smooth. Quite a calming thing to hold.
