Full description
A few years ago I was asked to make a Scottish thistle for a customer and this was the design I created which was very well received and always seems popular.
These have been made using 4 types of green stained glass for the leaves and stem and purple corella glass for the flower head. Tinned copper wire has been used to add detail to the flower head.
The suncatcher has been made by hand cutting the glass, grinding and washing before foiling and soldering together, the detail added and then a final wash. .
This measures 12cms wide by 13.5cms high.
I have four thistles all using the similar glass, just in a different position and all very similar to one another.
It will look beautiful in any window and does not have to be in a window which gets full sun, the beauty of the glass will be visible wherever it is.
I will supply a window hook with every suncatcher so the glass can be hung as soon as received. Just remember to wet the plunger before pushing firmly onto the window.
