Full description

Wooden pendant illustrated with forget-me-not flowers using pyrography (wood burning).

The design was burnt onto the wood using my Antex Firewriter Pyrography machine and then hand coloured using watercolour pencils.

Watercolour pencils are used to colour the wood as they still let the natural grain of the wood show through.

The pendant is finished with 2 coats of Danish oil, which protects the wood without making it too shiny or discoloured.

The pendant has an antique bronze chain which closes with a lobster claw clasp.

The clasp is on the right hand side, but if you're left handed (like me!) please let me know & I can change it. Also if you'd like the length of the chain shortened or lengthened, I can do that for you also.

Dimensions:

Pendant (wooden part) - approx 13cm (5in) wide & approx 7.5cm (2.5in) deep

Chain on its own - approx 40cm (16in)

The pendant sits pretty much on the collar bone, so isn't as 'loose' as it looks on the bust. (Last photo is of me wearing a necklace of the same size that I made for myself to show the size and fit!)

The wood will naturally age over time, but as with most wooden jewellery it is best to try and keep it dry and in a dark, cool place when not being worn.
