I’ve been working with glass for 18 years now. Ever since I first picked up my chosen glass and glass cutter, I’ve been hooked. I am fascinated by the properties of glass, the array or colours and the processes that that can be used to create different effects. There is always something new to learn and new tools and materials to invest in. It really is addictive!
What I especially love about working with glass are the colours. From crystal clear to shimmery dichroic to opaque pure blocks of colour that will never fade or dull.
I hope I’ve made you curious about the wonderful world of glass too!

Full description
Fused glass hanging bird. Opaque white glass with a pale pink retro flower design. These look lovely hung up somewhere to add a splash of colour.
To make the bird, I hand cut and shaped a piece of white opaque glass and a piece of clear transparent glass and fused them overnight in my kiln to create a sturdy base. Next I cut and shaped the petals and tail from pale pink opaque glass. I added a yellow beak, a turquoise eye and a yellow centre to the flower. The bird goes back into the kiln a second time on a lower temperature so the pieces remain slightly raised. Finally, I added a silver hanging wire.
Comes ready to hang on a silver wire.
Bird approx. 12cm by 8cm.
Item comes securely packaged and wrapped in my signature turquoise tissue paper, sticker and string. A gift message can be included, just contact me to let me know.
