Many of my designs are illustrative of my passions, which include wildlife, the sea and the woods. These earrings feature choughs, birds that breed on the cliffs of West Wales, where I live, and are a joy to see and hear when walking the coast path.

Full description
These earrings feature a pair of choughs, coastal crows with impressive red beaks.
As with all my jewellery they are made and decorated entirely by hand.
After forming the drops from fine white clay, I imprinted the choughs. When dry, I sanded the sides and rounded off the edges to ensure they are super smooth to the touch. They then had their first firing. Next I painted them using under-glazes and applied a transparent glaze before firing again to earthenware. The ceramic is glazed on the front, back and sides so is very smooth whilst retaining the texture of the imprinted design. The result is a pleasantly tactile item.
The ear wires are sterling silver

Each drop is about 20mm (about three quarter inch) in diameter, and the total length including the rings is 25mm/1 inch
All my jewellery comes in a hand-stamped box.
