October 2024: Stock Clearance
On Sunday 20th October I will clear stock from my shop. Many of the quilts will no longer be listed so this really is the last opportunity to purchase one (or two!) of my unique patchwork quilts. PRICES WILL NOT BE DROPPED as all the items are already listed with only the material costs and postage calculated. Please do have a browse and consider where in your home a quilt would add colour and cosiness or think of those you know who would welcome the warmth of a quilt into their lives.
I_SPY QUILTS - What makes an I-Spy quilt special? It’s not ‘just’ a cosy blanket or a fun play rug (although it is those things too!). This quilt grew from a desire to use a pack of 42 strips of fabric called a Jelly Roll. The strips are ideal for making a Bargello patchwork - a pattern I've wanted to tackle for a long time. It was a lot of fun to make - staying organised with all those strips and colours was essential but worth the concentration I think! :-)

Full description
A patchwork rainbow throw to brighten any room or occasion. At 50" x 68" (128cm x 174cm) this quilted blanket could be used indoors as a bed or sofa throw. Outdoors it would bring colour and warmth to a garden bench; could be used as a cosy wrap on a chilly evening or be laid on the ground to make a fun and striking picnic blanket.
Across the centre of the quilt top is a Bargello design giving a great sense of movement and emphasising the rainbow theme with the curving shapes. The feature fabrics are from a collection by Jen Kingwell for Moda called 'Circulus'. The circles printed on the fabrics gave me the idea to add circles into the patchwork design.
The fabrics on the front and back are all high quality 100% cottons as is the binding around the edge of the quilt. Inside the quilt there is a soft, durable layer of Hobbs 80% cotton/20% polyester wadding. The quilt can be machine washed on a gentle cycle.
To add texture and further interest I have machine stitched a quilting pattern across the quilt that echoes the peaks and dips of the Bargello patchwork.
Designed and made in my smoke-free, pet-free home. I have added a label to the back of the quilt giving details of when and where it was made and basic care instructions as well as the name I've given it, 'Bargello Bubbles'.
