I've been learning some hand sewing techniques and realised I needed a container to keep my threads and equipment tidy and accessible. I made a little fabric basket and used the left over fabrics to make a matching patchwork pincushion. The set has been so useful I decided to make some for other sewists to enjoy :-)

Matching storage basket and pincushion set ideal for keeping sewing supplies in order. No more scissors, pins and needles disappearing between the cushions of the sofa! An ideal gift for anyone who sews.
The set comprises the fabric basket and matching pincushion made from a cotton print featuring a characterful flower on a bright blue background. I've coordinated the fabric with a golden yellow gingham trim and golden yellow lining.
NB. The scissors, threads etc are NOT included.
The basket is made of coordinated 100% cotton fabrics and the base measures 4.25" x 4.25" (11cm x 11cm) square. The basket stands 4.25" (11cm) high. Between the outside and the lining are hidden layers of medium weight interfacing and quilters wadding which ensure the basket can stand upright without support but remains soft enough to fold flat if needed. The outside of the basket is decorated with quilting stitches which add rigidity and extra texture.
The matching pincushion is also made of 100% cotton fabrics with a patchwork design on top. It measures 4.25" (11cm) square. It is stuffed with polyester wadding.
Both the basket and pincushion can be machine washed on a gentle cycle.
