This topic is absolutely new to me. Apart from doing a bunny brooch I have never attempted a hare. This picture is one of four that I have created, all very different.

This one was pleasantly time-consuming. Hours of carefully layering the glass.

Full description

UNIQUE: 100% GLASS!

Gallery price: £135, from me: £75.

'The Hare' glass painting has been created by carefully hand-painting every detail of the hare, moon, and the surrounding onto transparent fusing glass. The paint used is very finely ground coloured glass that is mixed with water to create a liquid paint. I added a few touches of dichroic glass in the foreground just to give it a little twinkle. Once the glass paint is dry and the image carefully tidied up, the glass picture is fused in a kiln. The firing of the picture takes up to 14 hours as the kiln must be cooled very gradually to avoid breaking the fusing glass.

Each one of my pictures is completely original. They are individually hand-painted to ensure that no two can be the same. It is my love for what I do that drives me to create my pictures. I can never be completely sure how a painting will look when it comes out of the kiln, but it is always a pleasant surprise.

The white MDF backing has picture hooks on the reverse so it ready to hang.

Each picture is signed and dated on the reverse.

Backing: 30.5cm x 30.5cm x 1cm

Glass painting: 20.5cm x 20.5cm x 5mm
