Jewellery boxes are made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Jewellery box inserts are made from tall oil, a by-product of wood pulp industry. All paper, card, glue, inks and delivery boxes used are made from recycled materials.
The idea is to create something new from old, found by chance, full of history and character. To present and deliver unique Eco Friendly gifts in Sustainable Packaging.
I love collecting ceramic discarded, lost, forgotten, damaged or just not wanted any more. Favourite places are rivers and beaches, but also find great things at recycling centres and charity shops. I’m lucky to live near the River Tees, Co Durham and often walk the banks picking up broken glass, pottery anything that can be cleaned and re-worked and crafted into something new. Bits and bobs found by chance waiting to find new homes.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Additional terms
Shards Hand crafted Jewellery and framed artworks using pre loved and discarded ceramics. Ceramic material will show signs of wear. Entire process is a creative experience from discovery to final picture, nothing planned or preconceived. All materials personally collected from river banks, charity shops, roadside, woods, recycle centres, beaches, wherever dropped, dumped or donated ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Each titled piece comes with bio of where the ceramic came from, known history, original information and when the artwork was created. Some ceramics collected are used as found, while others are cut randomly which will shape the final picture. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns in ceramics there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece.

Edinburgh September 2020 I had a short bracing walk on Portobello Beach. Very cold, windy and full of chunky pot finds. Just as I was leaving I picked up this shard, not sure what its from, feels ‘pot like’, I love the colours and texture.
There was a small indentation at one end which I decided to use at the place to drill the hole. The front still has glaze intact, has texture and curves outwards. The back is two tone with the bottom meeting in a slight point of two colours. I haven’t sanded the pot at all, the colours and textures are exactly as found, the glaze catches the light and I have sealed the edges with Eco Friendly sealant.
A lovely remarkable shard found on a cold windy beach Edinburgh, destined never to be noticed but found by chance and re-created into a pendant.
The idea is to create something new from old, the finished piece isn’t meant to be perfect or highly polished but instead retain part of the original character.
Shard measures approximately 27mm x 20mm x 4mm.
The pendant is hanging on non leather woven cord, 44 cm plus 5 cm extender.
Delivered in gift box made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Presented on Jewellery box insert made from tall oil, a by-product of paper production. Sustainable gifts, complete with short bio and gift bag.
