Full description
Fused glass hanging agapanthus inspired suncatcher, in shades of purple, blue and maroon. This would make a beautiful gift for a special friend and looks lovely in a window.
To make this fused glass hanging, I cut 2 rectangles of transparent art glass. I then hand cut copper foil with a scalpel to make the agapanthus shape. I stencilled purple and blue powdered glass on to one of the rectangles to make the head of the flower and carefully arranged the copper between the layers of glass. The whole piece was fused overnight. The copper turns a rich dark red in the heat of the kiln. Next, I added coloured and dichroic dots which I have made previously to give some added interest to the design. A second firing is done overnight the next day to tack fuse the dots onto the design, so that they stand proud of the glass, giving it a 3D effect.
Comes ready to hang on a silver wire.
Size: 12cm x 7cm.
Item comes securely packaged and wrapped in my signature turquoise tissue paper, sticker and string. A gift message can be included, just contact me to let me know.
