I love the look of blankets made with scrap yarn, but really dislike sewing in the many ends created by using lots of different colours!

These scrap cakes are not scrap at all, they are hand built cakes, made using carefully selected, colour coordinated, brand new yarn. The different yarns are hand joined using a secure magic knot, enabling you to make a scrappy looking project without buying lots of individual balls or sewing in lots of ends!

Scrap cakes are a fun, yarny adventure, seeing which yarn comes next and watching the colours merge to create your project is very addictive!
Tikki scrap cakes are mainly premium acrylic yarn with some acrylic/natural fibre mixes, in many shades and all washable at 30 degrees. The little knots can be hidden within crochet stitches.
This cake is designed especially for use on a granny square or triangular shawl, with shorter lengths at the start of the cake and longer lengths towards the end, but would work equally well on a granny stripe project.
All lengths are joined to create 160g of continuous yarn.
