I have found wearing copper and various crystals beneficial to my mental well-being so have created a range of jewellery to be used as talismans, invoking healing and mental strength. Full description
The Obsidian glitters as light catches the crater-like crescent moon surface. The warm copper contrasts and compliments the shiny black crystal, it looks a little bit like lightening.
For this pendant and setting I used 2 mm copper wire. As you can see in the photos, this copper part sits at the back of the crystal.
The obsidian crescent moon crystal measures 4 cm x 4 cm and is secured to the copper pendant setting using 8mm copper wire.
It is linked to the copper torque with a single strong copper jump ring, its starting point resting on the skin just below the collar bone. The entire pendant drop is 6 cm in total. On most people it will end just above the cleavage.
The copper torque is made from 2 mm diameter round wire over lapped to form a loop at the front that attaches to the obsidian moon pendant.
The torque is lightly hammered to give a beautiful textured finish and fastens with my signature music note fastening.
Torque circumference including fastening is approximately 17 inches.
Each copper link is left unsoldered. This means the necklace can be lengthened, added to, and altered easily. Strong and chunky, it gives a rustic charm to the piece.
