Full description
Stoneware ring holder with gecko or lizard. This ring dish is big enough to also hold a pair of earrings or a bracelet.
I used a wooden gecko shape to imprint the pattern on a slab of clay, then shaped the jewellery holder into a bowl, added a post in the middle I used black underglaze to paint the gecko. After bisque firing to 1040°C, I applied red iron oxide and dripped some glazes and put some shards of blue glass to melt. I put it back in the kiln, this time to 1200°C.
