A striking gold gilded Japanese cotton fabric has been used to create this Japanese rice bag, with turquoise flowers, gold and turquoise leaves, asanoha and stripes on a midnight blue background.
Please note, pattern placement will vary from bag to bag.
The rice bag, or komebukuro, is a drawstring bag that was traditionally made of scrap fabric to carry rice or other offerings to Japanese temples or shrines.
The bag is reversible with a dark blue cotton fabric that helps show off the gorgeous fabric.
It measures approximately 12cm (4 1/2 inches) in height, width and depth. A Japanese fabric has been used to create the tabs to hold gold ribbon ties. The tabs at the end of the ribbon have been crafted from the Japanese fabric too.
The bag would make a lovely gift bag for someone special, and holds a lot given its size, as can be seen in the photos.
