Christmas Time is a magical time of year for everyone, young and old. I originally made one of these signs for my granddaughter four years ago and she loves it. The sign has been brought out every year since.
The history of Santa Claus can be traced back hundreds of years to a monk named St. Nicholas. It is believed that he was born sometime around 280 A.D. in Turkey. He was praised for his piety and kindness and became the subject of many legends. It is said that he gave away all of his inherited wealth and travelled the countryside helping the poor and sick. Over the course of many years, Nicholas’s popularity spread and he became known as the protector of children and sailors.

This wooden 'Santa Stop Here' sign is a fun way to decorate any environment. It has been upcycled from reclaimed wood. An ideal way to let Father Christmas know where to call.
Get your children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces excited and all ready for Christmas.
The sign is approximately 21 cms wide, approximately 13 cms in height and approximately 1.5 cm in depth. With the post attached, the item stands at approximately 36 cms in height.
All items to the UK mainland are shipped by Royal Mail.

I am a firm believer in upcycling using reclaimed wood whenever possible. I often recycle the packaging I send out my items in.
To make this sign I glued a number of pieces of wood together then cut a suitable size piece of wood from the glued pieces and sanded it by hand to a smooth finish. A template was applied to the wood and transferred using carbon paper. The sign was completed by using pyrography (the art of wood burning). Acrylic paint was then applied to the Father Christmas. The edges of the wood were lightly sanded to give it a slight round over effect. It was then coated in natural Shellac then finished with several coats of lacquer before being left to dry. The post was attached with two screws.
Thanks for visiting.
